Dr. Paul Zickler - Principal Investigator

Dr. Paul Zickler graduated from the faculty of medicine at the University of Western Ontario in 1972 and become an Emergency Physician. He practiced as an Emergency Physician for 18 years after which he co-owned and operated several ambulatory medical and travel clinics for 12 years. While in the emergency department at the Royal Columbian Hospital he worked with the Justice Institute of BC to develop their paramedic training program and the ACLS and Trauma training programs for physicians.

Dr Zickler joined TASC in 2003 and with sub investigator Dr Tai Araki and a team of on call investigators, has overseen the medical care and study conduct of vaccine trials in pediatric through geriatric cohorts in Phases I-IV.

Alison Orth - Vice President and Site Manager

Alison came to TASC in 1995 after obtaining her Bachelor of Business Administration at Simon Fraser University. She worked as a Research Assistant and Research Coordinator, which lead to her ACRP (Association of Clinical Research Professionals) CCRC (Certified Clinical Research Coordinator) certification in 1999. She currently manages the TASC vaccine site and coordinates the activities of the research team, which includes research nurses, research assistants and a phlebotomist who specializes in paediatrics.

Teri Arcand - President

Study to study, a vision, a collegial spirit and a relentless quest for quality, based on integrity and ethical conduct - emerged as TASC Research Services Inc. as founded by Teri Arcand. The site's commitment to those values ensures the culture continues. Teri, who was among the first Canadians to be certified by the then 'Associates of Clinical Pharmacology' (now ACRP), is a strong advocate for advancing and sharing knowledge.
